    Anas = latin for duck
    Striga = technically it's a genus of parasitic plant, but the word is derived from an old term for vampire.

    (I haven't studied Latin, this is just a hurriedly stitched together set of woods I found via the internet.)

    Anatidae is the family that includes ducks, geese and swans.
